Welcome and thank you for visiting our website where we hope you can easily find lots of information about St Mary’s CEP School.

St Mary’s is a small school founded in 1870 in the beautiful village of Hawkshaw. It’s a place where all children and staff flourish in a positive Christian ethos. Our motto is Believe and Achieve Together. Everyone is valued and recognised for their uniqueness and the contribution they make to the St Mary’s family.

We have chosen to limit our admission number to 15 to facilitate our bespoke and adaptive teaching. All children are supported to make strong progress from their varying starting points.

Together we create a happy place to learn and grow. Our latest SIAMS inspector reported ‘A tangible sense of love and care for each other runs throughout the school and spills out into the community around it ………. The school community is inclusive and is like a family where no-one is isolated and everyone belongs.’
